Let's Go Japanese.... for lunch....

Yup, that's all I can afford for the time being... Being extremely tight-fisted as to where my money is flowing, or rather trickling, nowadays, I've capped my restaurant-going outings. So was extremely glad to get brother's call to eat at one of the restaurants at Bukit Timah...

The food (lum lum mee) was a tad disappointing, the 'spicy' gravy limpid, the marinated slices of pork tasting only slightly better ... I remember being thrilled before by their ramen, soup in particular... one of those 'wow' occasions where you make a mental note to come back here again.... in fact, the experience triggered a flashback to another Japanese restaurant where I gave a treat to a dear friend leaving for Australia to study (that's what I am saving my money for).... the Momoe icecream.....peach-coloured crust in the form of an apple protecting the yummily-sweet contents inside..... ice-cream enveloping a Rocher-like chocolate ... would have been perfect if it had used that or any chocolate of equivalent standard...
