Bali - Lake Bratan
I came, I saw and I was conquered.
I'm glad I ended my status as one of the minority tribes of Singaporeans who have never been to Bali, but sorry I hadn't done so earlier. But it's not too late to change my retirement plans, from never-traversed-before-Phuket to been-there-not quite done with it-Bali. The view of Danau (Lake) Bratan which has been soaked in in the premanent recesses of my grey matter is worth much more than my romanticised image of Phuket

Waking up early every morning is no chore at all, not with the sonorous feathered friends calling you. The roadside birds of crows and mynas in Singapore have morphed into a distant memory with long-tailed shrikes perching handsomely on bare branches rousing your early morning senses. The twin images of a shrine beckon serenely at you from the transparency covering the lake.

It's wonderful, it's marvellous, and I want it to be a permanent stimulus to my senses....
