Namorambe

A new-found friend and a new place to run.

That's why I love to make new friends.... they open up new horizons, though Indonesians' grasp of time seems ethereal... When they promise to get you somewhere 'soon', ask for the exact time and x2. Which was what I discovered on a trip to Namorambe, a little countryside 'town'
(without the model contraptions associated with a 'town' - still searching for an appropriate word to label it...district? Or am I imposing my ideals of 'town' with my tinted glasses from ultra-urban Singapore?)

Before my ramblings veer me off the path, I must state that Namorambe is a lovely place to run. There's nothing to grumble about, with the undulating slopes, nicely paved roads that lead you round the villages and streams with suitably willowy trees with bulbuls and starlings hanging to the hanging figs for a sumptuous breakfast. You won't get your running shoes soiled at all with the potholes-free road (finally!)

Of course, helping yourself to a well-deserved serving of durians available at the roadside doesn't count too badly either....
